Rotork IQ3 Installed on 20” Gate Valve at Tank Storage Site

A new (unnamed) customer in the tank storage sector has commissioned their first ROTORK IQ3 actuator, installed on an existing, manually operated 20” gate valve. The valve was in frequent daily use, and operators had to open and close it manually each time — on site, from a platform where the handwheel was not easily accessible or ergonomic.

PRODIM took care of the full process:

• Site visit and on-site measurements
• Actuator sizing
• Design and fabrication of a custom mounting kit
• Installation and commissioning
• Short training session for the customer’s technical team

This first unit will serve as a test case for potential further automation across the site.

This  project was handled commercially by Michel Dekkers and technically executed by Frederik Van Acker.
